Counselors are often digging in their files after a student leaves their office, searching for methods and techniques to help the student. The Internet, as a source of treatments, can be overwhelming. I have captured some of my favorite sites for your use. Obviously there are many more sites but these are very useful in a school setting.

This is an entire book of psychological
problems and self-help solutions. Counselors can use this as a reference
when helping others and as a mental health tool in their own lives. The
title of the book is Psychological Self-Help by Clayton E. Tucker-Ladd.
It is a 15 chapter book with the last 5 chapters focusing on treatment
methods. Click on the above underlined web site to access this text.
Our own Allconet has several useful sources for counselors. John Close has compiled a comprehensive math and science site which contains informational resources which could prove valuable in our day to day counseling sessions. Topics of value include: Being Afraid; Obsessive-Compulsive disorder; When Somebody Dies; When Someone You Know Has Chronic Illness; and What You Need To Know About Drugs. Now click on Dealing With Feelings to access a site of interest. Scroll down to find the topic of your choice. To access the What You Need To Know About Drugs section click on the Growing Up section in the left column and scroll down to the appropriate drug area and click on that line.
